What is SDSL - and do you need it?
SDSL stands for Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line.
The symmetric aspect means that data can be transmitted at the same speed both up and down the line. The bandwidth requirements of an SDSL line, and the copper wire SDSL is transmitted over, mean that an SDSL line can only be used for data transmission (not both phone and broadband on the same line).

SDSL packages are more robust than, and more expensive than, ADSL business broadband packages. They are suitable for businesses that need a very reliable, high speed connection with good upload speeds (for example, for high-bandwidth services such as VoIP).
